Tha Pandora Box

Have you heard of the story behind the Pandora's Box?
It's definitely an intriguing myth and when I heard it in cruel romance I have to write this post as a reminder/inspiration.

The story of the Pandora's box originated in Greek classical mythology and it started with Zeus creating Pandora, which according to them is the "first woman". She was the epitome of a perfect woman due to the gifts that the other Gods bestowed upon her (Such as beauty, charm, etc). However, there are some gifts such as curiosity and persuasion which can be used for negative purposes. Anyway, long story short, Zeus wanted to take revenge on Prometheus, by giving Pandora to prometheus' brother. Then because he's little mister sneaky, he gives a jar to the couple that has a letter which says to never open the box. Zeus knows that Pandora's curiosity will led her to her own demise and bring suffering to mankind. So, one day, pandora was left alone and open the box because she was curious so anyway there are many dreadful things that happen to mankind after that. But some people tried to glazed a sweet icing over this tragic story by saying that in the bottom of the jar there's hope.......

In Cruel Romance the scene was pretty intense that the story seem darker though somehow :P Anyways, I'm pretty into all the heavy and tragic dramas these days so that led me thinking if people are just plain fools. And i am one of those fools. Why do we still step forward even though we are warned that there will be dangers in front? Humans inflict pain among themselves with full consciousness of their doing. We seek dangers, we practically beg for it, because the uncertainty of it keeps our heart pumping. Pain is the greatest and truest feeling of human nature after all. Sometimes a mere curiosity is the source of pain and yet it can be a turning point of your life. If you a live a life without dangers, without being curious, is that kind of life worthwile? Or a life that's worthwile is the one that might put you in danger, as well as great suffering, but knowing you'll get rewarded at the end?  The great irony in my life is that i seek comfort and yet there's a burning passion inside me that desire the thrill of danger.

Thus, i will end this post by this quote:

"The attraction of the virtuoso for the public is very like that of the circus for the crowd, there is always the hope that something dangerous will happen."

-Claude Debussy-
